One other option I'd like to show you is how to change the color of your lines. Now just click and drag to make the line either shorter or longer. Place your cursor near the Free Transform Handles on either end of the line and move it until you get the horizontal double arrows icon as circled in red below. If you want to make your line shorter or longer press Control-T (Mac:Cmd-T) to go into Free Transform mode. Try holding down the Shift key as you click and drag to keep your line perfectly straight. Keep doing that until you get the size you want. Then go up to the Options bar and enter a different weight and try drawing another line. If you dont like the thickness of the line press Control-Z (Mac:Cmd-Z) to Undo the line. Look at your Layers panel and you will see that Elements created a new Layer for the Line.
